Natural Beauty might be a fitting title for the cover art of this EP (a beautifully surreal, extremely closeup photograph of a moth's wing), but in reality is a sarcastic remark about the focus of this collection of songs: the ugliness of human nature.

A completely solo work, all done under the self-imposed surveillance of a video stream live for anyone to watch (twitch.tv/otherglow), Natural Beauty is as much an ode to basement internet life as it is modern social commentary.

With 80's keyboards that live comfortably next to jangly indie rock guitars, and current day electronic sounds paired with often falsetto vocals that aren't afraid to sing over a mathy beat once in a while: this EP has a sound that both seeks the future and the past at once. Listeners have noted comparisons to The Church, Pedro The Lion, Radiohead, Catherine Wheel, and The Velvet Teen to name a few.

Otherglow began in 2010 as a solo side project for me for songs that didn't quite meet up with what my previous band Withershins was about. After moving halfway across the country and away from my bandmates in Withershins, it became my primary focus. My intention is to use the internet to deliver my music as much as possible by way of online live show streams, sharing the production process, and generally trying to bring a concert experience (or better!) to an online format.
